Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) ran for office in 2022 as a progressive leftist but has, to the surprise of many across the ideological spectrum, served as more of a moderate Democrat for the past few years.
The apparent political evolution of Fetterman has now led to the resignations of two of his longest-serving senior staffers, according to Fox News.
Those two departures are just the latest in a string of staffer resignations over the past few years that can be linked to the senator’s staunch support for Israel in its battle against Hamas terrorists in Gaza as well as his occasional willingness to work cooperatively with Republicans and President Donald Trump.
A year-long exodus of staffers
NBC News reported that two of Sen. Fetterman’s top staffers, Communications Director Charlie Hills and Legislative Director Tré Easton, revealed that they would soon leave the senator’s office despite having worked for him since his 2022 campaign.
“Working for John afforded me the opportunity to build a diligent policy team from scratch,” Easton told the outlet in a statement. “Together we created a legislative body of work that I think is a blueprint for how Democrats should be governing when they have power. I’ll forever be grateful.” […]
