Other people go further still! They argue that some behavior that seems unloving to one person may actually be a loving act when someone else commits it.

Amazingly, one of the latest lines of defense of abortion is to go on the offensive: adopt that bizarre notion that the act of taking your unborn child’s life is really an act of love.

Some abortion providers now urge women to write love letters to their children before aborting them, simultaneously an act of co-opting criticism and ennobling the ignoble. One such form letter was published in a city newspaper and began with the words, “Dear Baby….”

“Dear Baby: I believe you will be better off in heaven. I am not sure I could provide you with a stable and healthy environment. I do not feel that emotionally or financially I could care for your every need.

“In forecasting my future, a dismal and grim picture is all that I can imagine. I hope you can understand my reasoning and can forgive me. I will see you in heaven. Love, Mom.”

Women are sometimes coerced into having an abortion to maintain the love of the father (who more often than not will abandon her after the child is dead anyway). Others convince themselves that the abortion is done for the “good of the baby,” another act of “love.” […]

62,000 Babies Older Than 15 Weeks Are Killed in Abortions Every Year https://right.report/62000-babies-older-than-15-weeks-are-killed-in-abortions-every-year/ https://right.report/62000-babies-older-than-15-weeks-are-killed-in-abortions-every-year/#respond Wed, 25 Dec 2024 12:14:05 +0000 https://right.report/62000-babies-older-than-15-weeks-are-killed-in-abortions-every-year/ Although historically many doctors believed that unborn babies could not feel pain until the third trimester or even well after birth, the modern scientific literature shows that unborn babies can feel pain by 15 weeks gestation, and possibly as early as 12 weeks.[1] The majority of abortions occur in the first trimester, but a substantial number are performed at 15 weeks or later on unborn babies who are capable of experiencing pain. Due to significant limitations with U.S. abortion data,[2] the precise number of abortions after 15 weeks is unknown, but available data suggests that tens of thousands of abortions on unborn babies who feel pain are performed at 15 weeks or later each year.

How many abortions take place in the U.S. at 15 weeks of gestation or later?

2022 abortion data from the states and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) indicate that approximately 6% of all reported abortions take place at or after 15 weeks of gestation. When applied to the Guttmacher Institute’s most recent estimate of 1,032,150 abortions nationwide in 2023,[3] this is approximately 61,900 abortions at 15 weeks or later each year.

In the United States, abortion data is woefully incomplete.[4] Since states are not currently required to report abortion statistics to the CDC, not all states do, and data quality varies. For example, some of the highest abortion-volume states (California, New Jersey, and Maryland) do not report any abortion data to the CDC. Furthermore, high abortion-volume states such as New York do not report data on gestational age to the CDC even though they report abortion totals.[5]

To produce a national estimate of abortions at 15 weeks or later, Charlotte Lozier Institute (CLI) used data from the most recent abortion surveillance report from the CDC (2022).[6] Because CDC reports abortions occurring between 14–15 weeks as one lump sum, CLI reviewed state data from states that report abortions by individual week of gestation to determine that on average, 47% of abortions in the 14–15 week range occurred at 15 weeks in these states in 2022. [7] CLI then multiplied the CDC’s 14–15-week abortion total by 47% to estimate the number occurring at 15 weeks. CLI determined that of all abortions for which gestational age was reported to the CDC, approximately 6% occurred at 15 weeks of gestation or later. CLI applied that 6% to the most recent estimate from the Guttmacher Institute of total abortions in 2023. […]

Texas AG Ken Paxton Fights Laws Protecting Abortionists Who Illegally Kill Babies https://right.report/texas-ag-ken-paxton-fights-laws-protecting-abortionists-who-illegally-kill-babies/ https://right.report/texas-ag-ken-paxton-fights-laws-protecting-abortionists-who-illegally-kill-babies/#respond Sun, 22 Dec 2024 16:47:40 +0000 https://right.report/texas-ag-ken-paxton-fights-laws-protecting-abortionists-who-illegally-kill-babies/ Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is moving forward with a lawsuit against New York abortionist Margaret Carpenter. This case is the first direct challenge to the same dangerous shield laws about which Operation Rescue sounded the alarm in its special exposé, “The Virtual Back-Alley,” highlighted in the 2024 Annual Survey report.

Earlier this year, Carpenter disregarded Texas state law and supplied abortion pills via telemedicine to a woman based in Dallas. Shortly after, the woman found herself in the emergency room with severe bleeding – a high-risk complication in chemical abortions, especially when done at home with no medical oversight.

“Operation Rescue detailed the dangerous expansion of telemedicine abortions – what we call the virtual back-alley – in our 2024 Annual Survey,” said Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue. “Virtual suppliers have nearly tripled since last year, and 22 states have created shield laws or executive orders to protect abortionists trying to cash in on this lucrative, under regulated new trend.

“These shield laws remove any and all accountability for abortionists like Carpenter who can profit from a woman a thousand miles away and face zero consequences when that woman nearly bleeds to death in an emergency room.”Texas AG Ken Paxton Fights Laws Protecting Abortionists Who Illegally Kill Babies

The lawsuit also states that Carpenter started working with Aid Access in 2020, a virtual abortion pill supplier that brazenly offers pills in all 50 states. Aid Access also supplies them as late as 13 weeks into pregnancy, well past the FDA approved cut-off of 10 weeks. Later in 2020, Carpenter also helped found a second virtual supplier, Hey Jane. […]

Abortion Increases 90% in New York as Abortion Pills Make Killing Babies Cheap and Easy https://right.report/abortion-increases-90-in-new-york-as-abortion-pills-make-killing-babies-cheap-and-easy/ https://right.report/abortion-increases-90-in-new-york-as-abortion-pills-make-killing-babies-cheap-and-easy/#respond Sun, 22 Dec 2024 16:04:39 +0000 https://right.report/abortion-increases-90-in-new-york-as-abortion-pills-make-killing-babies-cheap-and-easy/ Abortion increased 90% in the nation’s abortion capital of New York, one report shows.

Outlawing abortion in pro-life states certainly reduces abortion incidences, but just in those states. Those restrictions do not appear to have the same effect nationwide.

Like squeezing a balloon, abortion regulations push women out of pro-life states like Texas to abortion tourism destinations like New York or to illegally mail order dangerous chemical abortion pills.

Historically, when it comes to abortion policy and trends, as goes New York, so goes the nation.

2023 is the first full year in a post-Roe America. According to a recent article, the Guttmacher Institute claims New York’s 2023 numbers are up 90% over 2022 to a whopping 130,000. That’s the highest number ever recorded for a single year since NY legalized abortion in July of 1970. […]

States Take Their Fight to Defund Planned Parenthood to the Supreme Court https://right.report/states-take-their-fight-to-defund-planned-parenthood-to-the-supreme-court/ https://right.report/states-take-their-fight-to-defund-planned-parenthood-to-the-supreme-court/#respond Fri, 20 Dec 2024 14:20:49 +0000 https://right.report/states-take-their-fight-to-defund-planned-parenthood-to-the-supreme-court/ On Wednesday, the U.S. Supreme Court agreed to hear Kerr v. Planned Parenthood. At issue is a 2018 order by pro-life South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster directing the state’s Department of Health and Human Services to stop abortion facilities from receiving taxpayer funds from the state’s Medicaid program.

The Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) is representing the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.

“We are pleased that the U.S. Supreme Court will take up Kerr v. Planned Parenthood,” said NRLC President Carol Tobias. “Taxpayers should not be forced into supporting or supplementing abortion facilities and states should not be forced to override state pro-life laws that citizens support.”

Tobias went on to say, “No American taxpayer should be forced to use their hard-earned dollars to put more money toward Planned Parenthood’s over $2 billion a year in funding. It is good that the U.S. Supreme Court will weigh in on the rights of citizens to direct how their state spends taxpayer funds.”

South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson expressed his strong support for the case. “Although we are not a party to this lawsuit, I am adamantly opposed to any taxpayer money going towards funding abortions,” he said in a statement. “I’m glad to hear the U.S. Supreme Court has agreed to hear this case.” […]

Planned Parenthood Botched Abortion So Badly It Rushed Woman to ER for Excessive Bleeding https://right.report/planned-parenthood-botched-abortion-so-badly-it-rushed-woman-to-er-for-excessive-bleeding/ https://right.report/planned-parenthood-botched-abortion-so-badly-it-rushed-woman-to-er-for-excessive-bleeding/#respond Thu, 19 Dec 2024 20:13:11 +0000 https://right.report/planned-parenthood-botched-abortion-so-badly-it-rushed-woman-to-er-for-excessive-bleeding/ On December 29, 2023, almost a year ago, a 30-year-old woman was rushed to the emergency room due to excessive bleeding after a failed abortion at Planned Parenthood Park Hill, located in a residential area just east of downtown Denver.

Pro-lifers on the scene documented the incident while ensuring the patient’s privacy was fully protected. In the video received by Operation Rescue, a woman could be seen wheeled to an ambulance in a stretcher. What happened to her afterwards is unknown.

After receiving evidence of the abortion injury, Operation Rescue attempted to secure 911 records to discover what exactly happened and hold Planned Parenthood accountable for yet another botched abortion.

Operation Rescue followed due process to request the records according to Colorado’s Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) laws. But the City of Denver repeatedly delayed and finally denied the lawful release of the public records, stating that according to their policies, “the privacy interests of individuals outweigh any public purpose to be served by disclosure of CAD report.” In other words, in the opinion of Denver government officials, even though the patient’s name and identifying information is always redacted from records, the privacy interests of the abortion clinic staff or callers outweighs the public purpose of exposing the truth that abortion is not “safe.”

“Sadly, this is not the first time records have been denied to apparently protect ‘abortion rights,’ said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. While Colorado’s statute specifies that medical data is exempt, any specific information about the patient’s identity need only be redacted.” […]

Salvation Army Comes Under Fire for Supporting Abortion in Some Circumstances https://right.report/salvation-army-comes-under-fire-for-supporting-abortion-in-some-circumstances/ https://right.report/salvation-army-comes-under-fire-for-supporting-abortion-in-some-circumstances/#respond Thu, 19 Dec 2024 16:01:56 +0000 https://right.report/salvation-army-comes-under-fire-for-supporting-abortion-in-some-circumstances/ In a season of giving, donors need to be informed about charitable organizations that they might assume are pro-life but who in reality are not. One such group is the Salvation Army, known for its Christmas bell ringers and distinctive red kettles. According to the American Life League Charity Watchlist, the Christian charity does not denounce abortion but has detailed a surprisingly wide swath of justifications for abortion.

Katie Brown, American Life League’s national director, explained that the Charity Watchlist is a resource for those who wish to know the life positions and practices of the nonprofits they consider supporting. The list employs a simple stoplight green-yellow-red color coding to allow donors to know if they “go ahead” and donate to a nonprofit without reservations, “proceed with caution” after being fully informed of the potential risks, or “stop” any support of an organization that endorses abortion.

The Salvation Army’s positional statement on abortion begins with an overtly pro-life statement. But as one reads the complete message, more and more exceptions surface, raising serious concerns for those donors who do not wish to support abortion in any context. This alarming dichotomy has earned the organization a Charity Watchlist designation of red.

The Salvation Army, which describes its ministry as based on the Bible and motivated by the love of God, states its acceptance of abortion for the following reasons if the:

  • pregnancy would cause the mother harm
  • baby has a “fetal abnormality”
  • baby in his mother’s womb was conceived by rape or incest

Brown asks, “What is the definition of ‘harm’ and what about the child’s safety? Why is an ‘abnormality’ a death sentence for the baby? And why would the details of a child’s creation necessitate ending his or her life?” She added, “The Salvation Army states that it believes that ‘human life is sacred’ and there is a ‘responsibility to care for others, and especially to protect and promote the welfare of vulnerable people, including unborn children.’ The hypocrisy of the Salvation Army’s stated beliefs is highlighted in its disconnect with the organization’s tolerance of abortion.” […]

64% of Abortion Clinics Push Dangerous Abortion Pills on Women Beyond FDA Guidelines https://right.report/64-of-abortion-clinics-push-dangerous-abortion-pills-on-women-beyond-fda-guidelines/ https://right.report/64-of-abortion-clinics-push-dangerous-abortion-pills-on-women-beyond-fda-guidelines/#respond Mon, 16 Dec 2024 00:13:52 +0000 https://right.report/64-of-abortion-clinics-push-dangerous-abortion-pills-on-women-beyond-fda-guidelines/ Operation Rescue’s 2024 Annual Report, which surveys every abortion clinic across the nation, found that an alarming 64% of America’s abortion clinics offer the abortion pill between 11 and 13 weeks of pregnancy, well beyond the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) approved gestational cut-off of 10 weeks.

It’s important to note that even the 10 week gestational cut-off is much later than what was originally approved by the FDA. Mifeprex (mifepristone) was first approved for chemical abortions in 2000 with a gestational cut-off of seven weeks. In 2016, the gestational cut-off was moved to 10 weeks, when paired with an in-person visit. This dangerous rollback ushered in a steady removal of safety regulations over the next several years.

Those removals came to a head in 2020, when the Biden administration used the COVID pandemic to temporarily suspend the requirement that abortion drugs must be given during an in-person visit with a doctor.

Shortly after Biden allowed the temporary suspension, the FDA made that change permanent, and abortion-pills-by-mail began to skyrocket. When a group of doctors dealing with growing complications from the reckless use of the abortion pill regimen tried to challenge these dangerous changes in the courts, the U.S. Supreme Court ultimately ruled the doctors had no standing and allowed all the rollbacks to stay in place.

By 2023, Operation Rescue’s Annual Survey identified the number of abortion facilities mailing the death-inducing drugs with no in-person visit or ultrasound nearly doubled – from 94 to 184. […]

The Abortion Pill is Killing Babies and Killing Women, President Trump Must Restrict It https://right.report/the-abortion-pill-is-killing-babies-and-killing-women-president-trump-must-restrict-it/ https://right.report/the-abortion-pill-is-killing-babies-and-killing-women-president-trump-must-restrict-it/#respond Fri, 13 Dec 2024 14:38:39 +0000 https://right.report/the-abortion-pill-is-killing-babies-and-killing-women-president-trump-must-restrict-it/ President-elect Donald Trump is doubling down on his prior insistence that he will not take action to restrict access to the abortion pill mifepristone while suggesting that he has not closed the door on changing his mind in the future.

Trump discussed a wide variety of topics in an interview with NBC’s Kristen Welker that aired on “Meet the Press” Sunday. When asked if he would “restrict the ability of abortion pills” after taking office in January, Trump responded, “I’ll probably stay with exactly what I’ve been saying for the last two years, and the answer is no.” When Welker followed up by inquiring as to whether he would “commit to that,” Trump replied: “Do things change? I think they change.”

The president-elect mentioned how President Joe Biden repeatedly promised not to pardon his son Hunter only to reverse course and issue a pardon for his son last week.

“I don’t like putting myself in a position like that, so things do change. But I don’t think it’s going to change at all,” Trump said on the abortion pill.

Mifepristone, also known as medication abortion, is the first drug in the chemical abortion regimen. It destroys the environment in the uterus and starves an unborn baby to death. The abortion pill is reportedly used in about half of all pregnancy terminations in the United States. […]
