The visit comes after Trump vowed to “work the fry cooker” at a McDonald’s location during a rally earlier this month. Vice President Kamala Harris has stated that she worked at McDonald’s while working her way through college, a claim Trump has disputed.

“We don’t want to hear fake promises, even something like she worked very long and hard hours over french fries at McDonalds,” Trump said during a late September rally in North Carolina. “She never worked at McDonald’s. It’s a fake story.”

Once inside the restaurant, the former president could be seen working the fry cooker and serving food to customers at a McDonald’s in Bucks County, Pennsylvania on Saturday. Thousands of supporters and residents gathered outside the restaurant ahead of the Republican nominees arrival, representing a solid turnout in one of the biggest swing counties in arguably the most important swing state.

For most of his third campaign for office, President Trump has regularly railed against rising violent crime in the U.S., tying high-profile instances of murder to the millions of new migrants who crossed into the country over the past two years. In response, both Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have disputed his characterization of crime, and they have been assisted by a mainstream media that has all too often rebutted Trump’s assertions, claiming violent crime is down year-over-year. That turned out to be false, according to the FBI.

RealClearPolitics first noted a “stealth edit” made by Bureau officials in their crime data from 2022 through September 2023 where initial data showed violent crime falling by 2.1% during that period. On Wednesday, RCP reported that the FBI report now shows violent crime rose by 4.5% in that time span, vindicating President Trump and the families of murder victims who say a secure southern border may have saved their loved ones from tragic ends. In a press release last month, the FBI public relations team made no mention of the drastic change.

Even if one knew where to look, the new numbers don’t immediately pop out. Reporter John R. Lott Jr. wrote that he first noticed a cryptic line in an FBI update to the website which stated, “The 2022 violent crime rate has been updated for inclusion in CIUS, 2023.” The only way to see the change, he wrote, was to download the current data and compare it to the previously posted data which has since been removed.

During last month’s debate, President Trump assured viewers that “crime is up” across the country, prompting Vice President Harris to frown and shake her head. “Despite their fraudulent statements they made, crime in this country is through the roof. And we have a new form of crime, it’s called migrant crime,” Trump said on September 10th, “and it’s happening at levels nobody thought possible.” Some of the examples cited by Trump and others include the killing of Georgia college student Laken Riley and the rape and murder of a 12-year-old Texas girl, both allegedly at the hands of recent migrants. Johnson, a Republican, was telecast opposite “Face the Nation” anchor Margaret Brennan in footage that aired Sunday as she challenged him to describe the administration’s “different accounting” of resource allocations by FEMA to state authorities and residents left homeless or stranded. In his answer, Johnson described meeting firsthand with North Carolina residents who pleaded for his help and said Biden-Harris officials had not provided them with the $750 in maximum cash support that the president publicly stated was available to all. But that wasn’t the answer CBS chose to air.

On X, Johnson released what appears to be his own, off-screen recording of his answers in the interview, including one that talks about his visit to the state. He contrasted that with the aired clip which cuts out his entire description of on-the-ground recovery efforts. “They’ve obligated some funds, but they’ve only distributed two percent. The rescue and recovery effort is still going on, and then we address the rest of it.”

In his full, unedited answer, the Louisiana congressman spoke passionately about the men and women who feel left in a lurch by President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. “When I was there on the ground, and you should go, bring the camera and talk to the people there and they’ll tell you. Don’t take politicians’ words for this or the administration’s word for this. Talk to people there on the ground, they have not been provided the resources almost two weeks out from the storm that they desperately needed. And when I was there thirteen days post the storm [hitting], people are still being rescued. They’re still stuck in the mountains because all the roads are down and all the rest. So they need every available resource and all hands on deck.” His final sentence is the one CBS chose to air, leaving the rest out.

Unlike every other major presidential candidate, “Time has not been granted an interview with Kamala Harris,” Benioff wrote on X. “We believe in transparency and publish each interview in full. Why isn’t the Vice President engaging with the public on the same level?” He added hashtags #TrustMatters and #TransparencyMatters. Fox News reported on Benioff’s salvo after his magazine released a 3,000-word story exploring how or what Harris might prioritize in her own administration.

Benioff also linked to separate interviews with President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump who each sat for more than 90 minutes as part of stories about their administrations. Instead, Vice President Harris has largely stuck to progressive podcasts or local media shows in swing states where she is virtually guaranteed to receive friendly or less-informed lines of questioning. The piece, which Fox News called “largely sympathetic” to Harris, also quoted independent voter Rodrigo Lopez who described the incredulity in seeing Harris pivot from ultra-progressive in 2020 to moderate in 2024. “Yet she has skirted the thorough accounting of her policy evolution that Lopez is seeking, in part by speaking infrequently to reporters,” the story stated. “When she does do interviews, she mostly favors local media, culture podcasts, or friendly talk shows. In the midst of admonishing Black men for not supporting Harris nearly as much as they did his 2008 and 2012 campaigns, President Obama joined a member of the audience in mocking Trump for his age. The 44th president was pontificating on the price of home goods under Harris compared to Trump when an attendee threw him off-topic. “Car seats, or diapers. I remember buying diapers,” Obama said with a head scratch. “I remember the first time I went in the store, right after Malia was born. I was like what! That’s how much diapers cost? I remember changing diapers.” He asked the audience. “You think Donald Trump ever changed a diaper?” prompting laughs from the crowd.

“No! No chance!” some members yelled. “His own!” shouted another. With a toothy smile and a point of his finger, Obama shot back, “I almost said that! I but I decided I shouldn’t say it.” MSNBC carried the speech live, giving liberal viewers every opportunity to laugh along with Obama’s crude joke, but the internet was not nearly as forgiving.

Respondents were asked, “How concerned are you, if at all … about non-citizens voting illegally … in this year’s election?”
