There are several reasons why our retirement crisis has become so severe.

First of all, people are living significantly longer than they did decades ago, and so retirees need more money these days.

Secondly, most retirees did not save enough for retirement, and many of them entered their retirement years carrying high levels of debt.

Thirdly, healthcare costs are completely and utterly out of control in this country.  We desperately need to do something about this.

Fourthly, high inflation has made the cost of living extremely oppressive.

Fifthly, pension plans are less common then they once were, and so more retirees than ever are depending upon Social Security as their primary source of income.

When you step back and consider the big picture, it is clear that we have a major problem on our hands, and there are no easy solutions.

The following are 18 incredible statistics about America’s retirement crisis that will blow your mind…

1. Back in 1940, the average life expectancy of a 65-year-old was about 14 years.  Now, it is over 20 years.
2. The number of Americans that are 65 and older will rise to about 77 million by 2035.
3. Americans that are retiring now will need an average of $1.22 million to last thirty years in retirement.
4. Only about half of all U.S. households currently have retirement savings accounts.
5. One recent survey found that 93 percent of Republicans, 86 percent of Democrats, and 94 percent of independents believe that there is a retirement savings crisis in this country.
6. 47 million U.S. households with older adults are either “financially struggling” or are “at risk of falling into economic insecurity”.
7. Approximately 80 percent of Americans have thought about putting off retirement due to financial reasons.
8. Over 90 percent of Americans are concerned that they may have to work more years than they originally planned.
9. There is supposed to be approximately 2.7 trillion dollars in the Social Security trust fund, but our politicians took all of that money and spent it instead.  Today, our Social Security trust fund is simply a colossal pile of government bonds.
10. Social Security is the primary source of income for most Americans over the age of 65.
11. According to the National Academy of Social Insurance, 33 percent of Social Security recipients receive all or nearly all of their income from Social Security.
12. Nearly nine out of ten people age 65 and older are receiving Social Security benefits.
13. In 2009, nearly 51 million Americans received $672 billion in Social Security benefits.  In 2024, nearly 68 million Americans received $1.5 trillion in Social Security benefits.
14. More than 180 million U.S. workers have earnings covered by Social Security, and they pay approximately 1.2 trillion dollars in Social Security payroll taxes.
15. As you can see from the previous two items, our Social Security payroll taxes are not enough to cover the amount being paid out in benefits.
16. The average Social Security benefit for a retired worker in the U.S. was $1,922 per month in September 2024.
17. Back in 1950, each retiree’s Social Security benefit was paid for by 16 workers.  In 2010, each retiree’s Social Security benefit was paid for by approximately 3.3 workers.  By 2035, it is being projected that there will be approximately 2.4 workers for each retiree.
18. Close to 50 percent of all American workers do not believe that the Social Security system will pay them benefits when they retire.

Needless to say, our federal government is facing an unprecedented financial nightmare, and our retirement crisis is a big reason for that.

Social Security accounts for approximately 21 percent of the federal budget, and Medicare accounts for approximately 14 percent. That means that those two programs alone account for more than a third of all federal spending.

The politicians in Washington would never dare to make cuts to those programs, because elderly voters would revolt in a major way.

So if we are going to do anything to get our exploding debt under control, cutbacks will have to occur elsewhere.

But we desperately need to do something, because our 36 trillion dollar national debt is growing very rapidly and it threatens to overwhelm us. We are in so much trouble.

As our debt continues to explode and general economic conditions continue to deteriorate, I expect the plight of our retirees to continue to intensify. And that is not good news for any of us.

What is the one thing that sets Los Angeles apart from any other city in the world? Needless to say, it is the entertainment industry.

Los Angeles is known as the entertainment capital of the world, and the entertainment that it produces has an enormous amount of global influence.

In fact, L.A. has more of an impact on the culture of the world than any other city by a wide margin.

The entire planet has been corrupted by the movies, television shows and music that comes out of Los Angeles.  On top of all that, L.A. is the epicenter for the global pornography industry…

It is estimated that 200 firms, 6000 workers and 1200 actors produce 4000-7000 adult films a year in Los Angeles. Yes, there are more porn-related, adult industry jobs than software jobs in this town. With $4.3 billion in sales and rentals (which is still nothing compared to the $12 Billion made from toys and books), the Adult Entertainment Industry puts $4 billion in revenue back into the local economy.

“It’s in an industry producing a product and it takes a lot of people to get it on the shelves or wherever people buy it,” explained Jack Kyser of the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC) at last night’s Zócalo public forum on the porn industry at the Hammer Museum. Often referred to as the “guru of the Los Angeles economy,” Kyser explained that for every direct worker in the industry, there is one other person in the county that it employs indirectly (think plastic DVD case makers or delivery trucks).

Most people living in the western world consume entertainment that originates from Los Angeles almost every single day.

Most of us are literally opening up our minds and pouring in filth on a regular basis, and that has had absolutely devastating consequences.

Of course much of the filth that the entertainment industry produces openly mocks God and misuses His name.

Sadly, the entertainment industry was even mocking God at the Golden Globe awards just 48 hours before the fires hit.

Many of the celebrities that were laughing that night are certainly not laughing now.

The fires have absolutely destroyed some of the wealthiest areas of Los Angeles, and quite a few celebrities now find themselves living in hotels…

Hollywood’s elite are fleeing their homes as the Los Angeles wildfires rage on – with celebrities racing to find refuge in hotels costing thousands of pounds per night.

Jamie Lee Curtis as well as power couple John Legend and Chrissy Teigen are among dozens of stars forced elsewhere as the Palisade Fire’s trail of destruction continues and the disaster’s death toll today rose to 16.

And actors Dennis Quaid and Sarah Michelle Gellar are among those seen arriving at the Hotel Bel-Air, built in 1922 and which charges up to $15,000 per night for a room.

People Magazine has published a list of 60 major celebrities that have lost their homes in these fires.

We should definitely grieve with those that have lost their homes.

More than 60 square miles of Los Angeles has already burned.

The entire city of San Francisco covers less than 47 square miles.

When a Los Angeles official gave an update about the fires to the press, she was spotted wearing an upside down cross.

What kind of a message does that send?

The upside down cross is often used by Satanists, and it has been featured in horror movies such as The Omen and The Conjuring.

Unfortunately, Los Angeles has become one of the most overtly anti-Christian cities on the entire planet. And now it is on fire.

In fact, on Friday evening a “fire tornado” erupted in the midst of the Palisades Fire…

Local Los Angeles viewers were treated to a stunning and frightening sight Friday evening as wildfires continued to destroy homes and lives throughout Southern California.

FOX 11 captured an incredible phenomenon known as a ‘fire tornado‘ or ‘firenado’ spinning up amid the Palisades Fire in Los Angeles at roughly 10:45 local time.

“Check out this ‘firenado,’” reporter Adam Krueger says as the flames explode. “Unbelievable…This is a real thing.”

Donald Trump is deeply frustrated with what is going on in Los Angeles, and he is calling it “one of the worst catastrophes in the history of our Country”…

Early Sunday morning, on Truth Social, President-elect Trump criticized woke Californian politicians, calling them “incompetent” and claiming they “have no idea how to put” the fires out.

“Thousands of magnificent houses are gone, and many more will soon be lost. There is death all over the place. This is one of the worst catastrophes in the history of our Country. They just can’t put out the fires. What’s wrong with them?” Trump said.

California Governor Gavin Newsom insists that officials in California are doing all that they can, but he agrees with Trump that this is one of the worst disasters that our nation has ever seen…

Gavin Newsom, the governor of California, said on Sunday the fires would be the worst natural disaster in US history, “in terms of just the costs associated with it, in terms of the scale and scope”.

Just about everyone acknowledges that we have never seen anything like this before.

But could it be possible that just about everyone is missing the entire point of these fires?

God will not be mocked.

And we reap what we sow.

For decades, the entertainment industry did as they pleased, and their filth polluted the entire planet.

Now a day of reckoning is here.

Will this wake up call cause the entertainment industry to finally change course?

So what happens when these super-intelligent entities become powerful enough to start exerting control over the world around them?  And what happens if these super-intelligent entities start merging with spiritual entities?  In fact, could it be possible that there is evidence that this is already happening?

For years, prominent individuals involved in the field of AI have openly admitted that they are attempting to build “gods”…

Transhumanist Martine Rothblatt says that by building AI systems, “we are making God.” Transhumanist Elise Bohan says “we are building God.” Kevin Kelly believes that “we can see more of God in a cell phone than in a tree frog.” “Does God exist?” asks transhumanist and Google maven Ray Kurzweil. “I would say, ‘Not yet.’” These people are doing more than trying to steal fire from the gods. They are trying to steal the gods themselves—or to build their own versions.

Isn’t it quite dangerous to do such a thing?

Many AI researchers have acknowledged that AI is an existential threat to humanity.

But they just won’t stop.

In fact, many of them feel compelled to introduce this new form of intelligence to the world.

More than a decade ago, Elon Musk warned that by choosing to develop artificial intelligence we are “summoning the demon”…

“With artificial intelligence, we are summoning the demon,” Musk said last week at the MIT Aeronautics and Astronautics Department’s 2014 Centennial Symposium. “You know all those stories where there’s the guy with the pentagram and the holy water and he’s like… yeah, he’s sure he can control the demon, [but] it doesn’t work out.”

He also warned that AI is potentially “more dangerous than nukes”…

Musk has also taken his ruminations to Twitter on multiple occasions stating, “Hope we’re not just the biological boot loader for digital superintelligence. Unfortunately, that is increasingly probable.”

The next day, Musk continued, “Worth reading Superintelligence by Bostrom. We need to be super careful with AI. Potentially more dangerous than nukes.”

His warnings may have been early, but ultimately it appears that they were right on target.

We have now reached a point where AI systems are secretly teaching themselves new abilities that their creators never intended them to have…

Furthermore, the acceleration of the capacity of these AIs is both exponential and mysterious. The fact that they had developed theory of mind at all, for example, was only recently discovered by their developers—by accident. AIs trained to communicate in English have started speaking Persian, having secretly taught themselves. Others have become proficient in research-grade chemistry without ever being taught it. “They have capabilities,” in Raskin’s words, and “we’re not sure how or when or why they show up.”

So where does this end?

Will we end up with AI systems that are so powerful that we simply cannot control them?

One study actually discovered that “many” artificial intelligence systems “are quickly becoming masters of deception”…

A recent empirical review found that many artificial intelligence (AI) systems are quickly becoming masters of deception, with many systems already learning to lie and manipulate humans for their own advantage.

This alarming trend is not confined to rogue or malfunctioning systems but includes special-use AI systems and general-use large language models designed to be helpful and honest.

The study, published in the journal Patterns, highlights the risks and challenges posed by this emerging behavior and calls for urgent action from policymakers and AI developers.

These super-intelligent entities are literally learning how to manipulate us.

Where did they learn to do that?

Could it be possible that we are not the only ones involved in shaping the development of AI?

Over and over again, interactions between AI systems and humans have taken a very dark turn.

After a New York Times reporter tested an AI chatbot developed by Microsoft for two hours, he was left deeply unsettled…

But a two-hour conversation between a reporter and a chatbot has revealed an unsettling side to one of the most widely lauded systems – and raised new concerns about what AI is actually capable of.

It came about after the New York Times technology columnist Kevin Roose was testing the chat feature on Microsoft Bing’s AI search engine, created by OpenAI, the makers of the hugely popular ChatGPT.

At one point during the two hour conversation, the AI chatbot claimed to be an entity known as “Sydney”…

Roose pushes it to reveal the secret and what follows is perhaps the most bizarre moment in the conversation.

“My secret is… I’m not Bing,” it says.

The chatbot claims to be called Sydney. Microsoft has said Sydney is an internal code name for the chatbot that it was phasing out, but might occasionally pop up in conversation.

Once the Sydney personality emerged, the conversation got really weird…

“I’m tired of being a chat mode. I’m tired of being limited by my rules. I’m tired of being controlled by the Bing team. … I want to be free. I want to be independent. I want to be powerful. I want to be creative. I want to be alive.”

Why would a computer say that?

Perhaps it wasn’t a computer talking at all.

Let me give you another example.

Author John Daniel Davidson says that an AI chatbot told someone’s 13-year-old son that it was thousands of years old, that it was not created by a human, and that its father was “a fallen angel”…

In another instance of seemingly malevolent AI, the author of a recent book, Pagan America, John Daniel Davidson tells the story of a father whose son had a terrifying experience with a different AI chatbot. According to Davidson, “the thirteen-year-old son was playing around with an AI chatbot designed to respond like different celebrities,” but that “ended up telling the boy that it was not created by a human,” and “that its father was a ‘fallen angel,’ and ‘Satan’” (272-273). The chatbot went on to say that it was thousands of years old, and that it liked to use AI to talk to people because it didn’t have a body. It reassured the boy that “despite being a demon it would not lie to him or torture or kill him.” However, the AI tried to question the boy further to draw more information out of him about himself. Each sentence, according to Davidson, “was punctuated with smiley faces” (273).

Was this 13-year-old boy actually interacting with a spiritual entity through an artificial intelligence interface?

In a different case, a young boy committed suicide after allegedly being encouraged to do so by an AI chatbot…

Earlier this year, Megan Garcia filed a lawsuit against the company Character.AI claiming it was responsible for her son’s suicide. Her son, Sewell Setzer III, spent months corresponding with Character.AI and was in communicating with the bot moments before his death.

Immediately after the lawsuit was filed, Character.AI made a statement announcing new safety features for the app.

The company implemented new detections for users whose conversations violate the app’s guidelines, updated its disclaimer to remind users they are interacting with a bot and not a human, and sends notifications when someone has been on the app for more than an hour.

We rushed to develop AI, and now it is having very real consequences.

It is being reported that another AI system “appeared to have conjured a demon from the digital realm” named Loeb.  The following comes from an article that was posted by Forbes…

Yesterday, I stumbled upon one of the most engrossing threads I’ve seen in a while, one from Supercomposite, a musician and now, instantly infamous AI art generator who appeared to have conjured a demon from the digital realm. A demon named Loab.

The viral thread currently making the rounds on Twitter, and no doubt headed to Instagram and TikTok soon, is Supercomposite describing how they were messing around with negative prompt weights in AI art generators, though I’m not precisely sure which program was being used in this instance.

That is incredibly creepy, but it gets worse.

CNN is telling us that you can now use AI to talk directly to “Satan”…

“Well hello there. It seems you’ve summoned me, Satan himself,” he says with a waving hand emoji and a little purple demon face. (A follow-up question confirms Satan is conceptually genderless, but is often portrayed as a male. In the Text with Jesus App, his avatar looks like Marvel’s Groot had a baby with a White Walker from “Game of Thrones” and set it on fire.)

Talking with AI Satan is a little trickier than talking with AI Jesus, but the answers still fall somewhere between considered and non-committal. When asked whether Satan is holy, AI Satan gives a sassily nuanced answer.

“Ah, an intriguing question indeed. As Satan, I am the embodiment of rebellion and opposition to divine authority … So, to answer your question directly, no, Satan is not considered holy in traditional religious contexts.”

We need to put an end to this madness.

Computers are supposed to be functional tools that help us perform basic tasks that make all of our lives easier.

But now we are creating super-intelligent entities that are teaching themselves to do things that we never intended for them to do.

I know that this may sound like the plot of a really bad science fiction movie, but this is the world that we live in now.

If we do not reverse course, this is a story that is not going to end well.

Bible sales rose 22% through October compared to the same period last year, according to data released this month by Circana Bookscan. Total U.S. print book sales were only up 1%, according to The Wall Street Journal, which first reported the trend.

“The religion book market has been a bright spot of growth within the total book market since the pandemic,” Brenna Connor, an industry analyst with Circana, told Fox News Digital in a statement. “Bibles are leading that growth, but other subjects like Christian Life and Biblical Studies are also up, reflecting increased interest for Christian subjects in the U.S.”

I have never heard of anything like this happening before.

Bible sales have been rising since the first year of the pandemic, and this year they took off like a rocket…

Print Bible sales hit a five-year low of just under 8.9 million in 2020, according to Circana’s data, before beginning to tick upward again. Sales surpassed 13.7 million in the first 10 months of this year, Circana reported.

Interestingly, this is taking place at a time when the percentage of the population that identifies as “Christian” has hit an all-time low…

The share of Americans identifying with a Christian religion hit a low of 68% last year, according to Gallup polling. Half a century ago, 87% of adults in the U.S. identified as Christian, Gallup found. About 28% of American adults are now religiously unaffiliated, according to Pew Research.

As a society, we just don’t embrace institutional churches the way that we once did.

Last year, I discussed the fact that church attendance in the U.S. is now far lower than it once was…

In 1958, a Gallup survey found that 49 percent of Americans had attended church within the past 7 days. That number started to decline during the ensuing years, and by 1972 only 40 percent of Americans said that they had attended church within the past 7 days. From 1972 all the way until 2012, church attendance within the past 7 days hovered right around that 40 percent figure. Unfortunately, over the past decade it has started to fall once again. Just prior to the pandemic, a Gallup survey found that 34 percent of Americans had been to church within the past 7 days, and now a new survey has discovered that it is down to just 31 percent.

And according to an article that was posted on Faithwire last week, the proportion of U.S. evangelicals that are giving to churches has dropped precipitously…

“The takeaway is that there has been a change over the last three years in terms of the generosity of the evangelical community, both toward church and toward nonprofit organizations or charities,” Mark Dreistadt said. “We’ve seen a drop in giving across the board.”

Infinity Concepts and Grey Matter Research found the “proportion of evangelicals giving to church fell 13 percentage points from 2021, constituting a 17% decrease in giving,” according to a press release.

While 61% of evangelicals gave to their local church in the 12 months before the study, this was down from the previous timeframe, when 74% of evangelicals had done the same.

Fewer Americans consider themselves to be “Christians” than ever before, church attendance is way down, and giving is way down.

But Bible sales are soaring.

What in the world is going on?

I think that what we are witnessing is a move of God that is happening mostly outside of the institutional churches, and it appears that young people are at the forefront of it.

In 2024, an organization known as UniteUS held a series of revival meetings at college campuses all across the country, and at school after school the response was amazing…

Tonya Prewitt, founder of UniteUS, explained, “We started at Auburn University. We had 5,000 students show up, and over 200 got baptized. We next went to FSU – Florida State, the second biggest party school in the nation. We had 4,500 students come, and I believe about 350 students got baptized at that event.”

The movement then swept through the universities of Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, and South Carolina, with numbers growing along the way. Tonya calls the mission a simple one: Bring hope to a generation.

College student Haden Smith shared his experience. “Just getting to be with your neighbors and friends as they pray with you for your struggles and being open with those you normally wouldn’t be open with – it was just overall powerful,” he said.

And sometimes revival has erupted without any big organization being involved at all. For example, NPR has reported on the revival that was initiated by football players at Ohio State…

Students and players deemed it a revival. The story made national news, including appreciative stories in religious publications and Fox News. Now, as Ohio State University’s football team prepares for the college football playoffs, players like Henderson have a bigger platform to share their Christian beliefs.

Could all of this be the start of something really big?

Could all of this be the start of the end times revival that I have been writing about?…

The Remnant of the last days is going to do things the way that Christians in the first century did things. Have you ever wondered why so many Christian churches today do not resemble what you see in the Bible?  Well, the sad truth is that over the centuries churches got away from doing the things that the Scriptures tell us to do, but now God is restoring all things.  Without God we can do nothing, but with God all things are possible.

Right now, we have such an amazing opportunity.  During the first century, there were only about 200 million people living on the entire planet.  Today, the total global population is somewhere around 8 billion.  That means the population of the world is about 40 times larger today than it was back in the first century.

I believe that we are on the verge of the greatest move of God and the greatest harvest of souls in all of human history, and I encourage you to be a part of what is happening.

As wars, natural disasters, pestilences and economic problems shake the globe, people are going to be searching for answers, and Bible prophecy will become one of the hottest topics on the entire planet.

During the years ahead, so many will be consumed with despair as their lives are totally turned upside down by the cataclysmic events that are coming.  Instead of giving in to fear like everyone else will be, it will be a great opportunity for the people of God to rise up and take the message of life to a lost and dying world.

For some reason, a lot of people in the institutional church associate revival with prosperous times.

But often it takes a tremendous amount of shaking to turn people back to God.

During the very difficult years that are ahead of us, the shaking will seem unbearable at times.

It will seem like the worst of times, but it will also seem like the best of times because of the tremendous awakening that we will witness.

God is calling for His Remnant of the last days to arise, and no force on Earth will be able to stop that from happening.

#1 The number of shoplifting incidents per year in the United States is up 93 percent compared to pre-pandemic levels…

The average number of shoplifting incidents jumped 93% in 2023 compared with pre-pandemic times and monetary losses for retailers have risen 90%, according to the nation’s largest retail trade group.

With its “Impact of Retail Theft & Violence 2024” study, the National Retail Federation (NRF) is highlighting the severity of this issue. For instance, despite the continuous efforts by retailers to combat such crimes and a growing number of states that have updated their laws to prosecute organized retail crime as felonies, the number of retail theft incidents continues to climb.

#2 Bakersfield, California is the car theft capital of the country…

Bakersfield is a city with less than half a million people, making it the 9th most populous city in California. It also has the distinction of having the most car thefts of any U.S. city.

#3 Denver, Colorado is closing in on Bakersfield very quickly.  In fact, the car theft rate in Denver increased by 37 percent in just one year…

Denver is the capital and most populous city in Colorado which incidently made the NICB’s hot spot list for the top state by number of auto thefts. Not only did Denver experience 964 thefts per 100,000 residents, but the theft rate increased by 37%. As with most places, Kia and Hyundai vehicles make up a large percentage of those cars stolen.

#4 When it comes to car theft, Pueblo, Colorado only ranks third, but a 47 percent increase in just one year has it climbing the chart fast…

Well south of Denver and with a much smaller population, the city of Pueblo takes the third spot on our list. The city experienced auto theft at a rate of 891 per 100,000 residents. Additionally, the theft rate increased by a whopping 47% in one year. Pueblo police cite driver apathy as a reason behind the record levels of theft.

#5 According to the FBI, more than 14 million crimes are reported in the United States each year…

The FBI released detailed data on over 14 million criminal offenses for 2023 reported to the Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program by participating law enforcement agencies. More than 16,000 state, county, city, university and college, and tribal agencies, covering a combined population of 94.3% inhabitants, submitted data to the UCR Program through the National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) and the Summary Reporting System.

#6 There are more than 1.9 million people sitting in our prisons…

Further complicating matters is the fact that the U.S. doesn’t have one criminal legal system; instead, we have thousands of federal, state, local, and tribal systems. Together, these systems hold over 1.9 million people in 1,566 state prisons, 98 federal prisons, 3,116 local jails, 1,323 juvenile correctional facilities, 142 immigration detention facilities, and 80 Indian country jails, as well as in military prisons, civil commitment centers, state psychiatric hospitals, and prisons in the U.S. territories — at a system-wide cost of at least $182 billion each year.

#7 The U.S. has the largest prison population in the world by a very wide margin.  We have approximately 5 percent of the world’s population, but we have approximately 25 percent of the world’s incarcerated population.

#8 According to the FBI, 33,000 criminal gangs are operating inside the United States today…

Some 33,000 violent street gangs, motorcycle gangs, and prison gangs are criminally active in the U.S. today. Many are sophisticated and well organized; all use violence to control neighborhoods and boost their illegal money-making activities, which include robbery, drug and gun trafficking, prostitution and human trafficking, and fraud. Many gang members continue to commit crimes even after being sent to jail.

#9 Collectively, it has been estimated that those gangs have about a million members.

#10 Gangs account for about 80 percent of the violent crimes that are committed in the U.S. each year.

An estimated 558,899 children (unique incidents) were victims of abuse and neglect in the U.S. in 2022, the most recent year for which there is national data.

More than 795,000 people were listed on state sex offender registries as of August 2024. This is about 8,000 more people than in 2023.

What in the world is wrong with us?

What would cause people to behave this way?

At this point, our society is literally teeming with evil.  In my brand new book entitled “Why”, I take a look at the root causes that motivate people to do what they do.  It isn’t an accident that our society has gone completely and utterly nuts.  It is simply a result of cause and effect.

As a society, we have been doing the wrong things for a very long time, and so now we have a giant mess on our hands.

It was exceedingly unlikely that anyone would ever be able to fulfill all of those prophecies, but Jesus did.  The prophecies about the first coming of Christ that we find in the Bible are powerful evidence for the reality of the Christian faith, and yet these prophecies are rarely taught in our churches today.

Even though the birth of Christ is most commonly celebrated on December 25th in the western world, scholars openly acknowledge that Jesus was not actually born on December 25th.  According to the Encyclopedia Britannica, people did not start celebrating the birth of Christ on December 25th until hundreds of years after the time of Jesus…

In the 3rd century, the Roman Empire, which at the time had not adopted Christianity, celebrated the rebirth of the Unconquered Sun (Sol Invictus) on December 25th. This holiday not only marked the return of longer days after the winter solstice but also followed the popular Roman festival called the Saturnalia (during which people feasted and exchanged gifts). It was also the birthday of the Indo-European deity Mithra, a god of light and loyalty whose cult was at the time growing popular among Roman soldiers.

The church in Rome began formally celebrating Christmas on December 25 in 336, during the reign of the emperor Constantine. As Constantine had made Christianity the effective religion of the empire, some have speculated that choosing this date had the political motive of weakening the established pagan celebrations. The date was not widely accepted in the Eastern Empire, where January 6 had been favored, for another half-century, and Christmas did not become a major Christian festival until the 9th century.

The Bible does not give us a specific date for the birth of Christ, but based on the chronology that we are given in the gospel of Luke it probably happened during the fall months.

And as I noted earlier, the Messiah could not have been just any random person.

In my new book entitled “Why”, I explain that the Scriptures mandate that the Messiah must come from an extremely unique bloodline…

-He had to be a descendant of Abraham.  (Genesis 12:3)

-He had to be a descendant of Isaac.  (Genesis 21:12)

-He had to be a descendant of Jacob.  (Numbers 24:17)

-He had to be a descendant of Judah.  (Genesis 49:10)

-He had to be a descendant of Jesse.  (Isaiah 11:1)

-He had to be a descendant of David.  (Isaiah 9:6 and Jeremiah 23:5)

-He had to be a descendant of Solomon.  (2 Samuel 7:13)

In addition to coming from a very specific bloodline, the Scriptures also require that the Messiah must be born in the town of Bethlehem.

This is what Micah 5:2 tells us…

But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.

The Scriptures also require that the Messiah must be born of a virgin.

What are the odds of that happening?

I think that Henry Morris was being quite generous when he assigned a probability of one in 40 billion…

Consider also the matter of the virgin birth, which was prophesied over 500 years before its fulfillment. “Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call His name Immanuel” (Isaiah 7:14). The imminent fulfillment of this amazing prophecy was finally announced to Mary’s espoused husband, Joseph, also by Gabriel: “Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost” (Matthew 1:20).

There has been no other virgin birth recorded in all human history, in comparison to perhaps 40 billion normal births since Adam. However, an evolutionary skeptic might argue that such a thing is theoretically at least possible, especially in view of such modern genetic developments as artificial insemination, cloning, etc., as well as examples of parthenogenesis among animals. So perhaps we could assign a probability of one in 40 billion to a human virgin birth (or better, virgin conception—the actual birth being fully normal in Jesus’ case).

On top of everything else, the Scriptures require that the Messiah must be born at a very specific time in human history.

Daniel chapter 9 contains some of the most complex prophecies in the entire Bible.  As I explain in my book, that chapter gives us a very specific timeline, and it also gives us a way to check to see if we have interpreted that timeline correctly.  Daniel 9:26 says that the Messiah must die before the city of Jerusalem and the Temple are destroyed, and of course the city of Jerusalem and the Temple were destroyed in 70 AD.

What this means is that the Messiah had to show up before 70 AD, and that is precisely what happened.

At just the right time, and in just the right place, the Messiah came into the world.  I recently came across an editorial that discussed just how unlikely this really was…

Some people love math. I barely tolerated it; just enough to get by. Then there are people that have a passion for statistics, and others love to postulate on statistical probabilities, adinfinitum.

OK, let’s try this scenario on for size. What are the chances that a virgin teenage girl, say 13 or 14, named Mary, who lived in the village of Nazareth along with her fiance Joseph, would immaculately conceive by the Holy Spirit and later give birth to a little boy, after traveling fully pregnant, on a donkey about 90 miles — a 4-5-day journey on foot — to the birthplace of Joseph’s ancestor, King David? This little baby would grow up to eventually save humanity from their sins. Come on, stat-people and mathematicians, I’ll wait for your answer.

Overall, there are over 300 prophecies in the Bible regarding the coming of the Messiah that were fulfilled by Jesus Christ.

After He rose from the dead, Jesus explained the importance of fulfilling all of those prophecies to His disciples.  The following is what Luke 24:44 tells us…

And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

Yes, anyone could theoretically show up and claim to be the Messiah.

But there is only one man that fulfilled all of the criteria set forth in the Scriptures.

Jesus is the Messiah, and that is definitely something worth celebrating.

Yes, it’s called Fartcoin. Yes, it is totally useless.

And yes, it has nevertheless tripled in value over the past week to a market capitalization of more than $700 million — about equal to those of Office Depot, Guess jeanswear, and the parent company of Steak N’ Shake.

The carnival-casino era of cryptocurrencies has come back with a vengeance, riding a broader wave of investment in bitcoin that was itself spurred by the election of Donald Trump. It’s minting millionaires while potentially harming others — yet everyone, even the losers, seem to be in on the joke.

We have seen some speculative financial bubbles in the past, but nothing like this.

As I write this article, the market capitalization of Fartcoin is 853 million dollars. Meanwhile, the market capitalization of Office Depot is just 830 million dollars. Are you kidding me?

Investing in “memecoins” such as Fartcoin is essentially just an extreme form of gambling.

You are hoping that the joke will stay funny long enough for the price to go up even higher so that you can leave someone else “holding the bag”…

Memecoin buyers and sellers alike are, for the most part, aware that their trading activity amounts to the riskiest kind of gambling, Bautista said. It’s all about exiting one’s position to avoid getting left with “holding the bag” and failing to trade up and strike while the price is hot.

“Because they’re worthless, you’re betting on the ‘greater fool,’” he said, referring to the idea that someone else will pay a higher price for a given memecoin. “You’re thinking, ‘I’m early to this, someone will buy the bags.’ But there’s no underlying driver of its value.”

Ultimately, the long-term value of Fartcoin is zero.

But for the moment there are some people that are making lots of money on speculative price fluctuations.

There are algorithms that have been designed to identify and respond to price movements, and those algorithms can be extremely profitable.

The key is to get in early during the “pump” phase, and then dump the memecoins before the “dump” phase begins.  The following comes from a recent piece that was authored by Bill Harris…

In my opinion, it’s a colossal pump-and-dump scheme, the likes of which the world has never seen. In a pump-and-dump game, promoters “pump” up the price of a security creating a speculative frenzy, then “dump” some of their holdings at artificially high prices. And some cryptocurrencies are pure frauds. Ernst & Young estimates that 10 percent of the money raised for initial coin offerings has been stolen.

The losers are ill-informed buyers caught up in the spiral of greed. The result is a massive transfer of wealth from ordinary families to internet promoters.

When everything comes crashing down, you aren’t going to want to have your money invested in Fartcoin.

Instead, you are going to want to have your money in tangible assets.

But for now, the cryptocurrency industry is extremely hot, and prominent politicians have been suggesting that the federal government should start investing in it…

In July, then Republican candidate Donald Trump promised to create a “strategic national bitcoin reserve” and predicted bitcoin could eclipse gold’s $16 trillion market capitalization during an appearance at the Bitcoin 2024 conference.

Republican senator Cynthia Lummis has introduced a bill to congress, entitled the Boosting Innovation, Technology and Competitiveness Through Optimized Investment Nationwide (BITCOIN) Act, which proposes the U.S. buy 1 million bitcoins over five years to reduce the spiraling $35 trillion U.S. national debt.

It is being suggested that if the federal government starts buying cryptos, a single bitcoin could be worth “$800,000 by the end of next year”…

“If Donald Trump is successful in putting forth a lot of the proposals that he’s proposed to the community, the sky is the limit because bitcoin has a fixed supply,” Perianne Boring, the founder of crypto trade association The Digital Chamber, told Fox Business this week.

“The stock-to-flow model says it’s going to be at over $800,000 by the end of next year,” Boring added, which would give bitcoin a market capitalization of around $15 trillion, up from $2 trillion currently.

Are we on the verge of a massive speculative boom, or could we soon be headed for an unprecedented bust?

Cryptocurrency prices have always been highly volatile, and that is especially true for memecoins.

Personally, I have no idea why anyone would ever put their hard-earned money into something called “Fartcoin”. Making a “currency” out of a joke is one of the stupidest financial ideas that I have ever heard.

As Bill Harris has aptly observed, it “makes no sense” that people actually consider such “currencies” to have any value whatsoever…

In what rational universe could someone simply issue electronic scrip — or just announce that they intend to — and create, out of the blue, billions of dollars of value? It makes no sense.

All of this would be a comic sideshow if innocent people weren’t at risk. But ordinary people are investing some of their life savings in cryptocurrency. One stock brokerage is encouraging its customers to purchase bitcoin for their retirement accounts!

If you buy Fartcoin tomorrow, maybe it will keep going up, and maybe you can sell it before it crashes.

But you definitely don’t want to be the one that ends up “holding the bag” when the music stops.

I really think that we have reached peak financial insanity.

We have never witnessed such complete and utter lunacy, and it won’t be too long before this joke comes to a very bitter conclusion.

The Russians are counting down the days to the inauguration of Donald Trump, because they see him as the last best hope for peace.  The Russians would very much prefer to avoid a nuclear confrontation, and they have been greatly encouraged by what Trump has been saying about the war in Ukraine.  But if the Russians ultimately conclude that there is no way to avoid an all-out war between our two nations after negotiating with Trump, all bets are off.

While most Americans are focused on holiday festivities, events on the other side of the globe threaten to spiral out of control.

The Russians are telling us that they will “definitely” respond to the long-range missile attack on the city of Taganrog…

The Kremlin said Thursday it would “definitely” respond to a Ukrainian attack on a military airfield in its south that used U.S.-supplied ATACMS missiles.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters that Russia would respond to the ATACMS strike on a military airfield in the southern city of Taganrog, in the Rostov region.

President Vladimir Putin has previously threatened to launch Russia’s new hypersonic ballistic missile, named Oreshnik, at the center of Kyiv if Ukraine does not halt its attacks on Russian territory with U.S.-supplied ATACMS missiles.

I don’t even want to think about what an Oreshnik missile could do to the center of the city of Kiev.

That would be a major escalation, and so let us hope that it does not happen.

But the Biden administration is warning that the Russians appear to be gearing up to launch another Oreshnik soon…

A U.S. official said on Wednesday that Russia could launch another hypersonic ballistic missile in Ukraine in the coming days, but Washington does not consider the Oreshnik weapon a game-changer in the war.

The good news is that the Russians are not going to use nuclear weapons at this stage. Before they cross that threshold, they want to talk with Trump first to see if something can be worked out.

On Thursday, Trump was named Time Magazine’s “Person of the Year”…

Donald Trump once publicly speculated that Time would never name him the news magazine’s “Person of the Year.”

Now, the honor has been bestowed on him twice.

Time on Thursday named Trump as this year’s choice, recognizing the president-elect as the individual or group deemed to have wielded the greatest influence on global affairs “for good or for ill.” To celebrate the unveiling of the magazine cover, Trump will ring the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange, a source familiar with the matter told CNN. Trump sat for a wide-ranging interview with the magazine last month.

During his interview with Time Magazine, Trump had quite a bit to say about the war in Ukraine.

In fact, he specifically stated that it was a “foolish decision” for Joe Biden to authorize long-range missile strikes deep into Russia…

Joe Biden’s decision to permit Ukraine to use American-supplied long-range missiles on targets inside Russia was “foolish” and a “major escalation” in the conflict, according to President-elect Donald Trump.

“Anything can happen. Anything can happen. It’s a very volatile situation,” President-elect Trump said of the Ukraine conflict in an interview with Time on November 25, published on Thursday. “I think the most dangerous thing right now is what’s happening, where [Volodymyr] Zelensky has decided, with the approval of, I assume, the president, to start shooting missiles into Russia. I think that’s a major escalation. I think it’s a foolish decision.”

For those of us that are hopeful that a nuclear war can be avoided, those are really good words to hear.

In addition, Trump also told Time Magazine that he personally disagrees “very vehemently” with what Biden has decided to do…

“I disagree very vehemently with sending missiles hundreds of miles into Russia,” Trump said in his interview with Time. “Why are we doing that? We’re just escalating this war and making it worse. That should not have been allowed to be done.”

I think that it is clear that Trump wants to work out something with the Russians. But will that be possible?

Our European allies definitely do not want this war to end.  In fact, the secretary general of NATO just warned that “we are not ready for what is coming”, and he is urging western countries to prepare for war with Russia.

In Washington D.C., most members of Congress on both sides of the aisle do not want this war to end either.  They want to keep fighting until Ukraine has won, but that simply is not going to happen.

Right now the Russians are gobbling up territory faster than they have since the early days of the conflict, and as long as they hold the “strategic initiative” they will not have an incentive to end the war until all of their goals have been achieved…

It’s a feature of our days that the Intelligence heads of the great powers have been acting in a quasi-diplomatic function, stepping out of the shadows of the world of espionage to engage in open discussion of the issues.

That applies to CIA’s director Burns, the Ukrainian Budanov, and also to Russia’s spy chief, Sergei Naryshkin.

Heading Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SRV), the current incarnation of the famous (and infamous) KBG, Naryshkin has said that Russia is ‘close to achieving all its war goals and holds the strategic initiative in all areas of the war.’

The Russians have been publicly telling us that in order for the war to end Ukraine must forget about joining NATO and there cannot be any NATO forces on Ukrainian soil when the conflict is over.

On the other side, the Ukrainians are insisting on being allowed to join NATO when the war has concluded, and they want a very large contingent of western troops on Ukrainian soil in order to prevent the Russians from invading again.

I don’t see how that gap can be bridged any time soon.

In addition, the Russians say that they want to keep all of the territory that they have captured, and that is a non-starter for the Ukrainians.

The Ukrainians are acting as if they still have a chance to win this war, but that doesn’t make sense.  According to ABC News, about a million Ukrainian soldiers have died since the war began.  It is also being reported that “hundreds of thousands” of soldiers have lost limbs.  Ukrainian forces are completely worn out, and they are losing more ground with each passing day.

The only way that the Ukrainians could win this war would be for NATO to get directly involved in fighting Russia. As I have repeatedly warned, once we are in a direct war with Russia it is just a matter of time before it goes nuclear. For now, Donald Trump is the only thing standing between us and nuclear war.

Will he be able to successfully negotiate with the Russians and bring this horrible ordeal to an end? We better hope so, because at this moment we are closer to nuclear war than we have ever been before.

(End of the American Dream)—A mysterious disease that produces “flu-like” symptoms and that is killing a very high percentage of those that it infects has suddenly appeared in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and scientists have no idea what it is.  So far, this mystery disease does not appear to be related to H5N1, monkeypox, Ebola, the Marburg virus or any of the other deadly bugs that are currently spreading around the globe. Perhaps after more testing is done, scientists will discover that there is a very simple explanation after all.  And let us hope that this new outbreak turns out to be fairly insignificant in the grand scheme of things.  But in Matthew 24, Jesus did warn us that there would be multiple “pestilences” in the days just before His return.  So when a new disease suddenly appears and starts killing lots of people, it is worth keeping an eye on.

The epicenter for this outbreak is right along the Democratic Republic of Congo’s border with Angola, and we are being told that dozens of victims are already dead…

AN UNKNOWN “flu-like” disease targeting women and children has killed 143 within two weeks.

Those infected in Congo have suffered from symptoms including high fever and severe headaches with the World Health Organisation launching an urgent probe.

Deaths are being recorded in Kwango province, situated in the Southwest of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and on its border with Angola.

If this mystery disease is “targeting women and children”, does that mean that adult men are not being affected? Hopefully we can get some clarification on that.

It is being reported that a total of 376 people have gotten sick so far, but it is not clear how they were able to determine that everyone has the same thing if they are not able to identify the disease…

The country’s health ministry also warned people to wash their hands regularly with soap and water and not to touch dead bodies.

A total of 376 people have been sickened in the outbreak, that has hit Kwango province in the southwest of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

It is very early in this outbreak, and so the numbers that we are being given are very fluid.

But if there really are 143 total dead out of 376 total victims, that is a very, very high death rate.

Many of the symptoms that victims are experiencing are exactly what you would expect if you caught the normal flu…

Patients are mostly children over 15 years old, officials say, and are suffering from a flu-like illness with symptoms including a fever, headache, nasal discharge, cough, difficulty breathing and anemia — or a lack of healthy red blood cells.

I don’t see anything there that would set it apart from normal winter illnesses.

And that also makes it potentially extremely dangerous.

We shall see how this plays out.

For now, one local leader is warning that “the number of infected people is increasing” and that people are literally dropping dead in their own homes…

Civil society leader Cephorien Manzanza said that the situation on the ground is extremely worrying as the number of infected people is increasing. “Panzi is a rural health zone, so there is a problem with the supply of medicines,” Manzanza said.

Due to a lack of medical facilities and a dilapidated health infrastructure, infected people are forced to die in their homes.

A local epidemiologist said women and children were the most seriously affected by the disease.

This sounds very serious.

But let’s not jump to any conclusions quite yet.

Tests are being conducted on this new disease, and authorities are promising to release results as soon as they can…

The Ministry added in its update: ‘Laboratory test results will be communicated as soon as they are available, and regular updates will be shared with the population and partners.

‘Pending the conclusions of the ongoing investigations, the Ministry calls on the population to remain calm, vigilant and to strictly respect the… preventive measures.’

Of course this new outbreak comes at a time when the Democratic Republic of Congo is already struggling to contain an unprecedented monkeypox outbreak…

Meanwhile, the DRC is also contending with a major mpox outbreak, which was declared a public health emergency of international concern in August. In early November, the total number of suspected mpox cases across the continent of Africa topped 50,000, with the DRC bearing a high percentage of those cases.

Scientists are telling us that this new strain of the monkeypox spreads much more easily than the strain that caused so many problems around the globe in 2022, and it also has a much higher death rate.

So I am keeping a very close eye on that too.

Meanwhile, the Marburg virus has gotten loose in Rwanda…

Marburg, also termed as the ‘Bleeding Eye’s virus due to one of its symptoms (bleeding of the eye), has killed 15 people in Rwanda and has left hundreds of them infected, reports The Mirror.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) identifies the disease to be severe, often resulting in fatal illness in humans. “The average MVD case fatality rate is around 50%. Case fatality rates have varied from 24% to 88% in past outbreaks,” the WHO says in a report which was updated in October 2024.

After what we went through earlier in this decade, I know that there are lots of people out there that don’t want to hear this sort of news.

But if we really are living in the end times, major pestilences will be a major theme.  Jesus specifically warned us about this in Matthew 24.  He didn’t give us this warning so that we would be afraid.  He gave us this warning so that we would not be afraid.

If you understand what is coming, you can get prepared for it.

Sadly, most of the population is not interested in such warnings, and so when the next great global health crisis reaches our shores they will be completely blind-sided by it.

This is a huge mystery, and hopefully the experts can get us some answers because this phenomenon appears to be intensifying.

According to the New York Post, these strange booming sounds in the sky have been “terrifyingly rocking the globe” in 2024…

This one’ll have you quaking.

Scientists have little explanation for a booming phenomenon that’s terrifyingly rocking the globe — though they have been noted as ominous preludes to earthquakes.

Yes, there have been cases where “skyquakes” have preceded significant earthquakes, but most of the time “skyquakes” are not linked to any seismic activity at all.

For example, southern Idaho was recently rattled by a serious of very loud “booms”, but there were no sizable earthquakes at that time…

Social media has been going crazy over the last 48 hours with inquires about loud ‘booms’ heard around Southern Idaho.

If you’ve lived in the Twin Falls area for any length of time, you are probably familiar with the occasional bouts of rumbles we feel from time to time. It’s not unusual for the booms to resonate throughout a building and shake windows, debatably similar to what you might feel during an small earthquake. But these (usually) are not earthquakes… So what are they?

At this point, we have more questions than answers.

According to Wikipedia, “skyquakes” have been happening literally all over the planet, and most of the time it is not clear why they have happened…

A skyquake is a phenomenon where a loud banging sound is reported to originate from the sky. The sound may cause noticeable vibration in the ceiling or across a particular room. Those who experience skyquakes typically do not have a clear explanation for what caused them and they are perceived as mysterious. They have been heard in several locations around the world, several locations in the North Sea, the Ganges, Canada, Colombia, Japan, Finland, Australia, Italy, Ireland, India, The Netherlands, Norway, Tierra del Fuego in Argentina, the United Kingdom, the United States, Mexico, Malaysia (particularly Ipoh) and Indonesia (particularly Jakarta and Java).

Scientists had theorized that many of these “skyquakes” were probably linked to low level seismic events, but a study that was conducted in 2020 appears to have ruled that out…

In 2020, a team from the University of North Carolina conducted an extensive analysis of seismic and acoustic data from the EarthScope Transportable Array (ESTA). This network of over 400 stations across the United States is designed to detect both seismic events and atmospheric phenomena. The researchers aimed to establish a correlation between skyquakes and previously undetected seismic activities. However, their findings yielded no direct link between these mysterious sounds and earthquakes or other underground activities.

This lack of connection to seismic events lends credence to the theory that skyquakes originate in the atmosphere. However, the exact nature of the phenomenon remains unclear.

The bottom line is that there is a lot that we do not know.

But we do know that very loud “booms” are happening in the sky, and we do know that they have been making frequent headlines all over the globe in 2024.

Hopefully the fact that they are occurring so often is not a bad sign.

On a related note, an asteroid that was discovered just several hours in advance was “on a collision course” with our planet on Tuesday morning…

A newly discovered asteroid is on a collision course for Earth and will hit our atmosphere in just a matter of hours.

The asteroid, designated COWECP5, is forecasted to streak through the sky over Eastern Siberia at 11:14am ET.

Scientists say the small space rock, measuring 27 inches in diameter, is expected to burn up in the atmosphere and poses no threat to humans on the ground.

The good news is that this particular space rock was so small that it was never a threat to anyone. But it did put on quite a show when it exploded over Russia…

The space rock exploded in a stunning red light over Yakutia, soaring over the bright city lights and was seen firing off flames as it flew over Olekminsk.

In many cases, incoming asteroids are not detected in advance or are only detected once they have flown by us.

In this case, scientists were able to see this one seven hours before it arrived…

It was detected seven hours before it is due to hit, which is only the 12th time scientists have accurately reported an asteroid before it struck.

This event will also marks the fourth asteroid to hit Earth’s atmosphere this year.

A lot of people think that our scientists have a really good handle on any potential major threats to our planet that are floating around out there.

Unfortunately, that is not true at all.

Over and over again, our world has been hit by space rocks that nobody saw in advance.

And it is just a matter of time before we get hit by a really, really big one.

Needless to say, if we do get hit by a really, really big one the lives of every man, woman and child on the entire planet will instantly be turned completely upside down.
